VARSITY COACHING STAFF

Head Coach: Steve Kersten

This is Steve's 25th year as the Head Coach. Coach Kersten was recently inducted into the Michigan High School Football's Coach's Hall of Fame!

 

Offensive Coordinator: Jakob Gailitis

This is Jakob's 8th year coaching in Williamston coming from being a Head Coach in Pinckney.  Our program has been to 2 semifinals games in his tenure here.

 

Offensive Box Coach: Joel Emmons

This is Joel's 23rd year of coaching HS Football and his 18th in Williamston. He was the Head Coach at Webberville for a few years and he played HS Football here in Williamston. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our program!

 

Special Teams Coordinator: Kyle Robinson

19 years coaching experience.
2007-2008 Albion College.
2009-2012 Chesaning.
2013-2020 Corunna. 6 years as head coach.

2022-Present at Williamston.

 

Defensive Box Coach: Nate Massa

Nate was a 2-way starter and a captain of our 2010 Football Team that went to Ford Field.  He played football for 4 years at Hope College and is in his second year coaching here at his alma-mater.

JV COACHING STAFF

Head Coach: Ben McCann

Ben is a 2000 graduate of Dansville and has been coaching with us for 9 years. He is in his 2nd year of head coaching, and he brings a lot of enthusiasm along with building great relationships with players.

Assistant Coach: Chris Armour

Coach Armour a 2003 graduate of Heartland high school, is in his 14th season as a football coach at Williamston.  He has coached on all levels as well as being a wrestling coach. 

Assistant Coach: Zach Painter

Coach Painter is a 2022 graduate of Williamston and was a captain and leader for the Hornets as a Linebacker and H-Back. He was a two-time all-state linebacker for the Hornets. He is entering his second season as the defensive coordinator.

Assistant Coach: Ryan Nelson

Coach Nelson is in his 1st season with the Hornets. He is a 2022 graduate of Walled Lake Central and will be graduating from Michigan State University this spring with a bachelors in kinesiology and a minor in coaching. He is also an assistant coach for Williamston's middle school track team.

Assistant Coach: Cory Jorgensen

Coach Jorgensen is a 2007 graduate of Williamston and a graduate of Buffalo University where he was a D1 Quarterback, winning a MAC championship in 2008. Coach J is in his 2nd year as a coach at Williamston and will be the offensive coordinator this year.
